Meet Your Champions Eye Doctors

Dr. Ayesha Butt, O.D.
Dr. Ayesha Butt grew up in Toronto, Canada. She graduated with honors from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. She studied Optometry at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science, Canada. At the University of Waterloo, she earned distinction, special recognition, and clinical excellence awards for soft and rigid contact lenses. Dr. Butt is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Texas state Optometry Board. She offers full routine eye examinations as well as medical eye examinations focusing on ocular health. She prescribes glasses, soft contact lenses and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. She specializes in difficult contact lens cases such as keratoconus and post corneal transplant and uses the best technology to co-manage with the local ophthalmologists to prevent progression. Additionally, she is certified to fit overnight reshaping or orthokeratology contact lenses so that children and adults can be glasses free during the day. She loves working with children. Unlike the typical children exam that you might receive elsewhere, she also assesses binocular vision, where the vision might be 20/20 in each eye but both eyes do not work together. This condition can cause eyestrain when reading, headaches, and loss of 3D vision. As a therapeutic optometrist she is actively involved with the management of dry eyes, ocular infections and allergies. She tests and monitors quantity and quality of natural tears and uses state of the art technology to examine lids and lashes to make a treatment plan specific for individual patients. She is also an optometric glaucoma specialist who has gained most of her clinical externship experience in Houston while diagnosing and managing diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age related macular degeneration. She also co- manages LASIK and Cataract surgery patients with local ophthalmologists. Dr. Butt is a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association. She enjoys spending time with her husband and her two boys. She loves to travel internationally for vacation and optometry mission trips. As a therapeutic optometrist and licensed glaucoma specialist, Dr. Gates is trained to diagnose and treat many diseases and conditions of the eye. Her primary focus is always clear communication with each patient and providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, watching sports, and baking for friends and family.
Dr. Amanda Mireles, O.D.
Dr. Amanda Mireles is an Optometrist with an additional Glaucoma Specialist Certification. She subsequently achieved a Doctorate of Optometry Cum Laude from the University of Houston in 2017, where she received specialty training in Dry Eye Disease, Pediatrics, Contact Lenses and Neuroscience. She enjoys helping patients with corneal dystrophies and degenerations, dry eye disease, ambylopia, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and autoimmune conditions. Her treatment philosophy is educating patients about their health conditions so they are best enabled to make informed decisions about their treatment. When she isn’t seeing patients, Dr. Mireles is an avid reader and enjoys yoga, hiking and karaoke with her daughter and husband. They are welcoming a little bundle of joy to the family in April 2021!
